My fave beachwear for the summer...

Only April and in the last few weeks we’ve seen the clocks go forward and the sun come out, a wonderful way to ease us in to spring, and what better way to prepare than to get our bodies in shape for that perfect beachwear.

Beachwear is fundamental when planning a holiday, whether home or abroad, at the beach or by the pool, when you are strutting your stuff and catching that tan, you want to stand out for all the right reasons. So I have trailed the shops, online and in store to find this summer’s best picks.

H & M have recently collaborated with designers but it’s nice to see that they are still catering to their target market. If you’re on a budget and looking for a statement piece, then this bikini is it. Right on trend with the neon pink, this is also available in two other colours, making this bikini suitable for any skin tone and if you don’t mind the dodgy tan lines from this lovely design, this is for you.

Bikini Top: £12.99 Bottoms: £7.99

Next is a simple leaf design for this bikini which is perfect for the beach. A matching swim suit is available for those not comfortable showing their midriff and also a playsuit to cover up when you’re not in the sea or on that sun lounger. The perfect all rounder.

There are certain items that are must haves for every girl’s wardrobe. A great shirt, the make you look skinny jeans, the little black dress, to name a few, and another essential? A black bikini. It will save on embarrassing moments; we’ve all had our swimwear go see through right? And it is just simple.

Donkey rides, Mr Whippy’s, sandcastles and the blue crashing waves, we all have memories of the seaside. It is almost as iconic as fish and chips for us Brits and Ted Baker being a British company has done what they do best with this subtle print. The print has an old school vibe reminiscent of 1920s style, when it was all about covering up your assets, ironic to say the least, it is why this is my favourite one piece. With underwire for extra support, this swimsuit is one to save towards the end of your jollies when that tan has taken full effect, and the holiday diet has gone out the window.

So these are a few of my favourite picks for this season, and to accessorise these little beauties, go BIG. Big hat, big bag, big sunglasses, let all the people on the beach know that a true fashionista is in town.
